County and Regional affiliation fees MUST be paid by all AGB members of LAA Clubs and those AGB Direct Members who nominate Lancashire as their county – to cover 12 months from October 1st 2024:

  • Senior Members LAA £6.00 + NCAS £2.00 = £8.00 each

  • Junior Members LAA £2.00 + NCAS £0.20 = £2.20 each

  • Disabled Members LAA £4.00 + NCAS £0.20 = £4.20 each

  • University Clubs LAA £20 + NCAS £10 = £30.00 (club block fee)

  • School Clubs £5 (club block fee)

  • Plus always email the completed form (above) with the details (club, archer numbers, etc.) to treasurer@lancashire-archery.org.uk or the treasurer will have little idea what the transferred funds are for.

WHAT THE LAA DOES FOR LANCASHIRE ARCHERS

Much of what the LAA does is behind the scenes, supporting clubs/archers and representing the counties clubs/archers at regional events and meetings. The LAA provides a co-ordinated mechanism to feedback concerns to the Region and AGB on behalf of clubs and passes information from Region and AGB back to clubs/archers.

Some of the more visible activities include:

  • Organising of the following LAA Tournaments:

° Senior Outdoor Championships

° Senior Indoor Championships

° Junior Outdoor Championships

° Clout Championships

° Field Championships

° World Record Status WA 1440 (FITA STAR)

  • Have-a-go and educational events providing the counties archers the opportunity to try something new:

° Field have-a-go events.

° Try-Out Clout events.

° Introduction to Competition shoots (educational tournament for archers who want to find out more about tournaments before entering a record status shoot)

  • Close liaison with the AGB Regional Development Officer, including looking at inclusion, welfare, field, clout and venues (physical & financial)

  • Organise and support County Squad training sessions for Seniors & Juniors.

  • Provide material and financial support for clubs who host LAA Shoots & Squad Training.

  • Integrated LAA Coaching Group supporting the counites coaches and thus providing coaching opportunities for the archers in the county.

  • Provide help and advice to clubs (including start-up and struggling clubs) and archers, when asked for.

  • Supporting Judges

  • Supporting the Lilleshall National County Team Shoot.

  • Inter County Matches, home and away

  • Bursaries for National & International archers.

  • Provides a very informative website for information about Archery in Lancashire, and with links to other counties/AGB etc.

  • Provides a full set of continually updated county records.

WHAT NCAS DOES FOR LANCASHIRE ARCHERS

LAA is part of the Northern Counties Archery Society, NCAS, which comprises of:

Lancashire, Cheshire, Cumbria, Yorkshire, Durham and Northumberland & The Isle of Man.

The NCAS committee meet regularly to discuss how archery in the region can be supported and improved – we work together to help standardise archery and to provide tournaments etc.

NCAS has (not an exhaustive list) –

  • Chair – who communicates with AGB and the other Regions

  • Coaching Officer – Helps to support and standardise coaching within the region – organises conferences and clinics

  • Clout, Field and Flight Officers – promote each discipline, hold taster sessions and hold regular competitions.

  • Judge Liaison Officer – supports judges – NCAS provide initial uniforms and start up kit, give some financial support and help with conferences etc

  • Safeguarding Officer – supports County Safeguarding Officers

NCAS:

  • Provides some financial support to Archers who shoot internationally.

  • Holds inter county competitions in all disciplines

  • Provides a necessary level of Safeguarding (and supports Governance)

  • Holds regular working groups – safeguarding, juniors, clout etc etc

  • Works to provide juniors with training and competitions including a Winter Postal League

  • Financially supports judges and coaching (reduced fee at NCAS Conference)

  • Holds regular meetings and an AGM open to all members.

  • Supports the Counties on issues that affect all, especially at the moment with all the changes to AGB membership.

  • Promotes and organises Have a Go events for Flight and Field archery

  • Oversees the Clout classification and badge schemes
